How to form a Michigan LLC (Limited Liability Company)

Organizing a Michigan LLC

A limited liability company is formed in Michigan by submitting the Articles of Organization and paying the $50 filing fee to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Commercial Services. Submit the articles in person, by mail, fax or a pdf attached to an email. When fax filing, include the bar coded Fax Voucher Cover Sheet. Standard review time for the certificate is approximately one week; however, Michigan will handle your processing in 24 hours for an additional $50. Use the MICH-ELF Cover Sheet when fax filing and emailing.
