How to form a Rhode Island LLC (Limited Liability Company)
Organizing a Rhode Island LLC, PLLC and L3C
Form a Rhode Island LLC by submitting Articles of Organization and include the $150 state filing fee to the Rhode Island Office of Secretary of State, Division of Business Services. File the articles by mail, in person or online. Rhode Island will process filed documents in approximately one week. Include a completed copy of the Docketing Statement with the filing. You may file your certificate online and it will be processed in two days.
Rhode Island offers a separate, but very similar form for forming a low-profit LLC (L3C). The filing fee and filing procedure is identical to a standard LLC.
