A limited liability company is formed in Kentucky by submitting the Articles of Organization and paying the $40 filing fee to Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office. Submit the articles in person, by mail or online. Kentucky will review and process your articles as you wait when filed in person.

The Kentucky Secretary of State also registers Nonprofit LLCs, as well as Professional limited liability companies.

Qualification of a Foreign LLC in Kentucky

Register your foreign LLC to do business in Kentucky by filing the Certificate of Authority with the Kentucky Secretary of State, by mail, in person or online. The filing fee is $90. Kentucky does not require a certificate of good standing to register a foreign company.
