Organizing a Louisiana LLC

A limited liability company is formed in Louisiana by submitting the Articles of Organization and LLC Initial Report and paying the $100 filing fee to Louisiana Secretary of State, Commercial Division. Submit the articles in person, by mail or online. If filing the paper form, the organizers’ signature and the registered agent acceptance must both be notarized.

The Louisiana Secretary of State also registers a low-profit LLC referred to a L3C.

Qualification of a Foreign LLC in Louisiana

Register your foreign LLC to do business in Louisiana by filing the Certificate of Authority with the Louisiana Secretary of State, by mail, in person or online. The filing fee is $125. Louisiana does not require a certificate of good standing to register a foreign company.
